We’re reaching out to you about the ongoing and escalating crisis in the Middle East Region, which has been at the forefront of our minds. At LSE, where we have such a diverse and international campus, we recognise the deep emotional and personal impact which you may be feeling at this time.
We are aware that many may choose to express your beliefs through protest or other means. We stand in solidarity with LSE students’ right to peacefully protest and we support students actively calling out any form of discrimination and practices that go against our community values. We encourage you all to read information from greenandblackcross.org so you are well informed of your rights.
We stand with any student who is grieving, and we want you to know that the SU are here for you in this time of need. It is our duty to maintain a safe and inclusive campus for all, and we remain committed to the welfare of all our students. If you want to report any incidents of bullying, harassment, discrimination or hate crimes, we urge you to use the Report + Support tool so we can ensure campus feels as safe as possible for our students.
Finally, we wish to remind you of the support provided by the Students’ Union that is available should you need it. If you are affected in anyway by the events currently taking place, please get in touch with the LSESU Advice Service to explore all options available to you.
Alternatively, you can reach out to us, your Sabbatical Officers, should you need extra support. If you have any questions on the Divestment or the ESG Review process, reach out to us or attend our ‘Sabb Sessions’ which will be taking place every Monday in the Saw Swee Hock building at 12:30-1:30pm, this is a chance to speak to us in person.
