What is the Accountability Board?
LSESU’s Accountability Board is a selected group of students who are responsible for holding the Students’ Union account, ensuring that we are doing what students want.
The Accountability Board attend the Union’s Town Hall meetings. It is their role to scrutinise the work of the sabbatical officer team, ensuring they are working towards achieving what they pledged to in their manifesto.
Like a jury system, we use a sortition process to ensure the students selected reflect the LSE student body and bring in their own lived experience when setting Union-wide policy. This means they have been randomly selected from a pool of volunteers, with adjustments made by algorithm so that the make-up of the panel reflects the demographics of the LSE student body.
