We know that rent in London can be expensive and you may find yourself facing a situation where you do not know how you are going to make your next rent payment. Below are some suggestions if you find yourself such a situation.
If you have exhausted all options, such as finding part/time work, the school Financial Support Office (FSO) has some means-tested funding which is available to students facing an unexpected financial hardship. The guidance notes and application form can be found on the LSE website.

If you are looking for support in advance of starting your course, you may also want to consider contacting the FSO as they do have a limited number of scholarships and bursaries.
It may also be worth considering talking to your landlord if you have good relations with them, as they may be willing to come to a payment plan or defer payment.
At the LSESU, we administer a means-tested fund which is designed to support students who are unable to afford basic living expenses (i.e. rent) as a result of an unforeseen event.
Our funding is limited and we can only provide financial support on a short term basis. If you feel as though this applies to your situation, please do get in touch and we can discuss an application. For the full guidance and application forms, please check out our Hardship Fund.

Please note, we do not offer scholarships or funding prior to your course.
