Somo, Spain Surf Trip 2025 🏄‍♂️

🏄‍♂️ Who:

• LSE Student or Alumni
• Can swim
• Over the age of 18

Please do not worry if you have never even touched a surfboard before! The vast majority of us are beginners/started learning on previous surf trips.

🏠 Accommodation – Cantabria Surf Hostel

The Somo Surf Hostel is the closest accommodation to Somo Beach, just 100m from the sand!

Somo is a small and cozy town, with good restaurants and something to do. The somo surf hostel is in a quiet place, but right in the center next to everything and with a very good connection between Somo and Santander.

It offers:

• ✅ Modern dorm-style rooms (6, 8, 10, and 12-bed options) split by gender
• ✅ Free Wi-Fi & common areas
• ✅ Breakfast included every morning
• ✅ 5 Dinners included
• ✅ The perfect location for surfing and socialising

🏄‍♂️ Surf Lessons – Escuela de Cántabra de Surf

Our surf package includes:

• ✅ 11 surf lessons
• ✅ All equipment provided (wetsuits, boards, etc.)
• ✅ Professional instructors
• ✅ Photos & videos from the lessons
• ✅ Free access to surf school facilities (lockers, changing rooms, hot showers)

We will have a rest day on 14th June to explore Santander!

💰 Cost:

• Deposit: £120
• Remaining for Students: £365
• Remaining for Alumni: £450

❓ FAQs

 Are deposits refundable?

- You may be refunded if someone else from the waiting list of the same gender can take your place, or you can find a replacement yourself!

- For context, we did have a wait list for our last trip to Newquay, Cornwall 🐚 So there's a decent chance you may be able to refund!

What are the deadlines for the deposit and final payments?

TBC! Deposit deadline will probably be end of March.

 Who are we sharing our space with?

- Good news! We have booked out the entire hostel, so no strangers around :)

- From previous trips, we found this to be the most enjoyable setting to get to know everyone

What do I need to bring?

• Swimsuit for under wetsuit
• Warm clothes for evenings
• Travel insurance (covering surfing) - we wil provide details on this
• Towels TBC
• Sunscreen + zinc oxide sticks

What’s the weather like?

Expect warm weather but chilly water – wetsuits will be provided!

How do we travel there?

Book flights to Santander Airport (SDR) once we confirm that you should.
