In light of the recent resignation of LSE Faculty member Dr Jacob Breslow from the Mermaids charity as a Trustee, we wanted to address the concerns that we have and those shared by the wider student body at LSE.

We find it abhorrent that safeguarding procedures and processes have been overlooked and we welcome LSE’s decision to investigate the reports of Dr Jacob Breslow’s presentation at the B4U-Act conference in 2011 and look forward to hearing the outcome.

We also want to make it very clear that Dr Jacob Breslow does not represent the wider trans community and LSESU will not tolerate any harassment or bullying of trans students at LSE.
