Hi! I’m Beth, and I’m running as one of the Academic Reps to ensure your voice reaches the Faculty and that we can work together to improve the LLM experience! 

My priorities: 

1. Course selection: Streamlining, simplifying and taking the stress out of course selection 

2. Assessment: Gathering your opinions on assessment methods, particularly closed book exams, and identifying how we can improve assessment

3. Access: Identifying barriers related to accessing the course, and financial issues current students may face

4. Welfare: Communicating welfare-related concerns, exploring increased class recording, signposting and developing support

5. Careers: Increased opportunities for LLM-specific networking and speaker events, careers-related trainings and professional development, and visibility for non-traditional legal and non-law careers.

I would work with the other Academic Reps to achieve this through: 

• Surveys of the cohort 

• Drop-in discussion sessions in the Common Room 

• Ensuring we’re available for you to reach out to! 

Experience

• Gender Equalities Officer and Chairperson of the KCSU, the SU during my undergraduate.
• I successfully introduced free period product provision, changes to disciplinary policies, and changes to rent.
• I hope to use this experience to consult the cohort, collaborate with the other Academic Reps, and to contribute towards positive change.
