I am a Student Academic Mentor and have been an Academic Rep for my department along with experience in part-time teaching. I have also been a Student Facilitator for Consent Ed.

Learning - 

• Reading weeks for all!

• LSEStart - Induction module: equalise academic skills irrespective of previous experience.

• At least 24 hours between a lecture and the class!

• Increase visibility of underrepresented backgrounds. Targetted recruitment of teaching staff. Diversify course content. 

Supporting -

• Specialised portal for research positions accessible by both teachers and students. 

• Start 'campus placements'. Invite organisations to employ students directly. 

• Increase non-finance opportunities on CareerHub!

• Strike helpline - Support affected students doing summatives by operating a helpline to connect them to relevant teachers available/LSE Life team.

• Full-time professional for on-campus drop-in well-being sessions. 

Engaging - 

• Allow students to view marked answer scripts without a remark. Increase written feedback, especially for essay-based subjects. 

• Set up a full-ride internally-financed scholarship for 1 student for the 2024 academic year. LSE pledges £2 per enrolment for the fund. 

• Improve module-picking process. Separate days for departments. Assign designated teachers for approvals. 

• Extend mentoring programme and student+alumni socials to all departments.

• Organise inter-departmental and inter-university fests!!!
