As LSE’s sole society bridging international relations and economics, we aim to empower members to critically analyze global trends and develop innovative solutions to contemporary global issues.
We are a dynamic, student-run organization dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of international political economy and its impact on global affairs. Our mission is to create an engaging platform for students from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds to explore the intersection of politics, economics, and international relations. Through thought-provoking discussions, expert-led seminars, and collaborative research projects, we empower members to critically analyze global trends and develop innovative solutions to contemporary challenges. Committed to inclusivity and intellectual growth, we strive to cultivate a community of future leaders equipped to navigate and shape an interconnected world.
This year we plan to offer a broad range of exciting events including, but not limited to:
Expert Speaker Events: We plan to invite industry and academic experts working at the intersections of international relations, politics, finance, and economics to provide unique insights to the most pressing global trends, issues, and events. Economics Crash Course: Not everyone has a strong background in economics. These student-run sessions aim to level the playing field providing a primer of key economics concepts in an accessible and friendly environment. The IR206 Revision Pub Quiz: As exam season approaches, we plan to foster an exciting format for IPE revision. Economics-IR mentorship program: This student-led program aims to foster personal connections between economics and IR/politics students. Each discipline provides unique skills and insights which can be facilitated through strong student-student connections. The IPE Society Blog: Here, original work around news, policy, and opinions in IPE can be published. We seek to foster a space where ideas can be shared and debated critically and in good faith
