A network of students hoping to eradicate poverty through projects on human rights and access to justice.

Junior Lawyers Against Poverty (JLAP) was founded in 2015 to engage students in projects relating to access to justice, the rule of law and poverty eradication. We understand that many students seldom get the opportunity to explore non-commercial areas of law outside of their studies. So we are here to offer an insight into areas such as: human rights law, climate change law, refugee law, international development law and rule of law in good governance.

Throughout the year, we aim to connect our members with law students at other universities (possibly in other countries), to engage in knowledge sharing around contemporary legal issues and more. If you're interested in building a network of passionate student activists worldwide, or to receive career guidance from esteemed members of the Lawyers Against Poverty's network, JLAP is the perfect place for you.

We have a variety of activities planned from cross-university events, fundraisers to journalistic opportunities, and much more. Please do not hesitate to join as we welcome everyone with or without a legal background, so long as you are driven to make a positive change in society.
