How to Vote

  1. Login! Make sure you are logged into our website to cast your vote.

  2. Review the candidates - you'll be shown all the candidates running for the election, where the candidates have explained why you should vote for them. Take some time to read about what the candidates are standing for so you can vote for the people who best represent you.

  3. Rank the candidates in order of your preference. We use a voting system called ‘Single Transferrable Vote’ (or 'Alternative Voting' depending on how many seats there are). That means that if your first choice candidate doesn’t get enough votes to win, your vote will go towards your 2nd, 3rd or even 4th choice. In the end, the people elected through Single Transferrable Vote are generally supported by the largest possible group of voters. For a bit more info, view this 2 minute video.

  4. Vote! However, make sure to only vote for the roles that represent you. E.g. if you are a full-time student, don't vote for the Part-Time Study Officer
