What can you do?
If you're struggling to pay for a club, society or event, you can apply for the Participation Fund. Each application will be judged on its own merit however the below criteria must be met:
- Why you can’t afford to participate. This would normally be through a bank statement and an outline of your current (and expected) income.
- Why the activity will have a positive impact on your university experience. There are lots of benefits to participation, from personal development to community building, and so we haven’t limited the type of LSESU activities covered. It is up to you to explain what the activity would add to your experience here.
- The amount(s) requested are reasonable. You will need to provide evidence of the activity costs and, if you are applying for money for an item, you should ensure good value by carrying out a price comparison exercise.
The application form and guidance can be found on our Participation Fund page.
